Emotional Health & Sickness
![Fantasy Comment Graphic](http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u83/jst8761/fant/fan0707.gif)
How to improve your emotional health:
What this means is that through emotional pain, fear and depression, you have created dis-ease within your body. Your charkas, aura and physical energy fields have become out - of - balance, causing conflict and imbalances to your physical body. How you feel and think makes a difference on your body as well as your state of mind. Negative thoughts and feelings create negative energy that flows through the body sending mixed messages. These messages attack weakened parts of your body either through hereditary illnesses or old injuries. New illnesses can also be created through our thoughts and emotions.
When you have let go of and dealt with the emotional issues and learnt to balance your charka's, energy fields and aura, then you can remove the sickness. Positive thoughts, affirmations, meditation, inner healing therapy using Reiki Seichim and Ki Manna massage and self realisations can help you to find balance. It is as simple as stating each day to yourself and to others, how healthy, happy and alive you feel. Feeling motivated to want change is the first step, then having courage and conviction to follow through will take you to higher ground in your healing. It is not easy staying positive, but having the strength to know your weaknesses and then staying committed to healing them will aid you in your growth.
Here are few examples of how thoughts and feelings can create illness.
Acne Fears and negative thought patterns combined with anger out of control arising to the surface to burst out, filled with puss and infection representing negative feelings. Do not be afraid to voice and release your thoughts and feelings. Avoid fatty, sugar foods. Drink plenty of water and eat wholesome foods. Plenty of outdoor exercise and positive thought affirmation.
Abscess Inner self conflicting with outer world. Unable to find release with causes eruptions through the skin. Learn to find inner peace. Do not dwell on the past. A need to place healthy vitamins and herbs needed to cleanse the liver, pancreas and kidneys, which will also help cleanse the blood. Water is a powerful healing agent, swim, drink plenty of water and eat fruit and vegetables.
Arthritis Life has become too hard. There is a need to open your inner child and stop thinking you are growing old. A need to be more open and flexible to yourself and others.
Burns Rushing around. Lack of concentration. Fire cleanses, but also burns. A need for cleansing negative patterns and removing excess anger. Placing yourself in situations that become heated, angry, even violent. Find inner peace. Remove yourself from dramas and people who wish to hurt you. Slow down and breathe. Breath therapy as well as meditation will help you to find courage and peace.
Boils Excess inner anger brewing to the surface. A need for releasing pent up emotions. Swimming, walking, sunshine and a healthy diet with minimum meat products will help ease emotions and balance the body. Inner healing therapy will help to control the outbursts.
Cuts Slow down!!! The mind wanders to emotional hurts, causing a loss of concentration. Emotional hurts cause us to mutilate ourselves. Subconscious need to hurt ourselves as others have caused us pain. Spilling blood. Spilling tears. Have a good cry. Talk to someone who can help you make sense of emotional hurts and past traumatic issues.
Colds and Flu's A need for a clearing of toxins, negative thought patterns and people from our lives. A warning to slow down. Excess drugs, caffeine and alcohol in our bodies. Needing to retreat from the world. Take time off and do things that make you feel better. Always helping others and forgetting your own needs. You body is asking you to cleanse old patterns, ways and diet.
Circulatory System Blood is life force energy needed to sustain life. If their are problems with your circulation then your life is out of balance. Order is needed. Create new life experiences. A change in job, relationships and home life is needed to open the blocked channels.
Constipation Fear of letting go. Holding on to old emotions and thoughts that are no longer of any use. Too much congestion building up inside. You have become to hard. Bend a little and find forgiveness in yourself and others. Drink plenty of water, eat more fresh fruit and vegetables as well as exercise.
Diarrhoea Over anxious, excited or agitated with your life and the way it is unfolding. Poisoned words, accusations, lies and deceptive people. The body cannot handle the negative thoughts, feelings and food you are placing into it. Try and live your life in an honest way and avoid people who cause you fear and worry, betrayal and hurt. Watch what you place and mix together within your body and in your life.
Diabetes Lacking the sweet things in life. You have not lived your life the way it was destined. Living in the past. Childhood issues where you feel cheated of a better life. Unforgiving of old hurts. A strict diet, medical intervention and alternative therapy will help you to release and heal.
Digestive Problems arise to the digestive system when we are unable to perceive in an open and truthful way. Excessive stress. Overreaching and constant worrying. A need to regulate your eating habits and to find balance in work and play.

Initiations For Growth
Topic: Life Is About Growth:
![Native American Comment Graphic](http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u83/jst8761/natam/na0510.gif)
Growing Pains Initiations For Growth Life is about growth, which is wonderful, though not always easy. Indeed, many of life’s lessons can be painful or difficult. Yet, such challenges are often the ones that present the most opportunity for spiritual growth. Initiations for growth come in many forms. In fact, we can view every challenge in life as an opportunity to learn and grow. While these disruptions in life are not easy, they are necessary.
The challenges the universe sends us can seem unbearable at times: a job we don’t want to spend another day at, a broken heart that feels as if it will never heal, or a long and painful illness. And then, there are the challenges that can be just as scary because we are being called to step up to the plate in ways that we may think we are not yet ready for: overcoming our fears in order to realize a lifelong dream, leaving behind a situation or people in our life that we may have outgrown, or moving across the world for our dream job or life partner.
At such times, it can feel as if the world is testing us and that life is asking more of us than we think we can give. We may feel uncomfortable, frightened, and unsure of what to do. However, life isn’t so much going against us as it is encouraging us to grow. During these periods, we can grow stronger by putting one foot in front of the other, as we work through our challenges. We may be asked to let go of old safety measures, shift old patterns of behavior, or step into the abyss of the unknown. When we do rise to the occasion, we end up better off for having made that journey. Not only do we end up learning and growing, but we inevitably become more compassionate to the challenges of others and wiser in the ways of the world. Our faith in the universe also grows because, ultimately, we can’t help but realize how much we are supported and taken care of at all times. When we are in the midst of a growing period, it is not easy to see our reward, but it is there, waiting for us to grow big enough to reach it.

Paying Attention To Red Flags
Susan
![](http://img.datehookup.com/Thumbnails/2008/07/23/20080723807232879678.jpg) Paying Attention To Red Flags
Warning Signs
Just as the universe wants to provide for our needs, it also seeks to protect us from dangerous situations, destructive relationships, and even minor inconveniences. Frequently in our lives, perhaps everyday, we encounter psychic red flags warning us of potential problems or accidents. We may not always recognize the signs. However, more often than not, we may choose to ignore our intuition when it tells us that "something just isn’t right."
Red flags often come in the form of feelings urging us to pause for a moment, listen to our intuition, and reconsider. We may even experience a "bad" feeling in our bellies. This is a red flag letting us know that there may be a problem. We may not even know what the red flag is about. All we know is that the universe is trying to wave us in a different direction. We just have to pay attention and go another way. We may even wonder whether we are paranoid or imagining things. However, when we look back at a situation or relationship where there were red flags, it becomes easy to understand exactly what those warning signs meant. More often than not, a red flag is not a false warning. Rather, it is the universe’s way of informing us, through our own innate guidance system, that our path best lies elsewhere.
We may try to ignore the red flags waving our way, dismissing our unease as illogical. Yet it is always in our best interest to pay attention to them. For example, we may meet someone who outwardly seems perfect. They are intelligent, attractive, and charming. Yet, for some reason, being around them makes us feel uneasy. Any interactions we have with them are awkward and leave us feeling like there is something "off" about the situation. This is not necessarily a bad person. But, for some reason, the universe is directing us away from them. Red flags are intended with our best interests at heart. No harm can ever come from stopping long enough to heed a red flag. Pay attention to any red flags that pop up. The universe is always looking out for you.

http://www.cherokee.org/flash/christmas/2003/HolidayCard2003.html (link to the above to receive my Cherokee Christmas card to you)
From My Heart to Yours I Want To Wish You A Merry Christmas Tsisa kohi-iga adehvga Two of the most common Cherokee Christmas greetings are Tsisa kohi-iga adehvga; "Jesus today is born." Ulihelisdi danistayohihv; "We rejoice that they go shooting,"
Why would this expression become a Christmas greeting? The Cherokee language gives us a window into the history and development of holiday traditions.
In the days before refrigeration, freshness was essential. If you were planning to have turkey or goose or quail or venison for Christmas dinner, somebody had to go shooting, preferably that day. Even as a teenager (hey! not as long ago as many of you might think), I remember hunting on Christmas morning in the South. We seldom (never!) shot anything, and went home to cook what was in the freezer. But at least we had gone shooting on Christmas morning, and tradition was fulfilled.
Another reason for the expression: Cherokee communities in the South and Southwest borrowed the Spanish custom of celebrating Christmas with firecrackers. The same expression was kept, but this time 'they' refers to the firecrackers, not the hunters, which go shooting.
Santa Claus is called "he shoots firecrackers", or Distayohi. Aneha (he brings) didanedi (gifts) to nigada (all) the diniyotli osda (good children). He may place them under the atsina (cedar tree), which as a reward for keeping vigil all night soon after the creation of the world, keeps its leaves all year. Distayohi's sleigh is drawn by galiquogi (seven) awi (deer).
While the old Cherokee spiritual practices are very much alive, Cherokee today are predominantly Baptists and Methodists. As adaptable monotheists, Cherokees had less trouble than some Indian nations in accommodating the Christian message.

![](http://img.datehookup.com/Thumbnails/2008/07/23/20080723807232879678.jpg) Optimistic energy today may find you making big plans far into the future. Your hopeful aspect enjoys making long-range plans, but you also feel confident that these are realistic and attainable. This allows you to move forward with your plans without confusion or delay, which can help bring them to fruition sooner. It always feels good to have something to work toward, but it’s also important to leave room for the universe to move in and through our plans. It may have something better for us than we could have imagined for ourselves, so these plans may only get us headed in the right direction. Today make your plans and move joyfully forward, expecting the universe to bring wonderful surprises along the way.
Making specific plans is an act of creation and gives the universe direction for its organizing power. But we must keep in mind that we are cocreators and that we are making our plans based on our limited view of the future.
When we communicate with the universe in meditation, we may receive direction and be able to align ourselves and our plans with the universe’s broader view. But we must allow the universe to unfold our lives before us, using its knowledge of synchronicity to have us at the right place at the right time, even if it happens on a different schedule than we had hoped. So today make your plans and follow them while listening for the universe to whisper in your ear to create something even more wonderful.

Susan Celebrating The In-Between Times
While celebrations are intended to honor life’s more momentous occasions, much of real life tends to happen during the in-between times. While moving from one moment in time to the next is seldom considered a significant occurrence, it is during those in-between times that we are most in tune with life’s most profound, albeit simple joys. Between birth and death, triumph and sorrow, beginnings and endings, we enjoy innumerable experiences that often happen unnoticed. These times are just as worthy of celebration.
The in-between times are seldom about landmark moments. How you choose to celebrate them or which moments you choose to celebrate is up to you. You may want to celebrate the simple facts that you are alive and that every day is a chance to spend time with the people you care about or do the work that you love. Then again, when you look at the good that exists in your life, many reasons for celebrating the in-between times may become clear: a cup of your favorite tea, a beautiful sunrise, a good book, and the smell of fresh air can be reasons for celebration.
Celebrating the in-between times can be as easy as paying special attention to them when they do happen, rather than taking them for granted. It’s your focus of attention that can turn an in-between time into a celebration. You can also pay homage to the in-between times by slowing down and allowing yourself time to look around and allow your heart and mind to take in all of your life’s wonders. Far too often, we can let those simple moments of awe pass us by. The in-between times are when life happens to us between the pauses that we take to honor our milestones occasions. Without the in-between times, there would be no big moments to celebrate.

Wild Wisdom
Since prehistoric times, animals have acted as companions to humans on their journey toward enlightenment. Animals as disparate in character as house pets, birds, sea creatures, and insects have been our mentors, teachers, and guides. There is much we can learn from animals, as they offer us the unique opportunity to transcend the human perspective. Unlike human teachers, animals can only impart their wisdom by example, and we learn from them by observation. An animal teacher can be a beloved pet or an animal in the wild. You may even find yourself noticing the animals in your backyard. Even robins and bumblebees have lessons to share with you. Animals teach us in a variety of ways about behavior, habit, and instinct. House pets embody an unconditional love that remains unchanged in the face of our shape, size, age, race, or gender. They care little for the differences between us and them and simply enjoy loving and being loved. Our pets encourage us to let our guards down, have fun, and take advantage of every opportunity to enjoy life. You can also learn lessons from the animals you encounter in the wild if you take the time to observe their habits. Cold-blooded animals show us adaptability and sensitivity to one’s environment. Mammals serve as examples of nurturing and playfulness. Animals that live in oceans, lakes, and rivers demonstrate the value of movement and grace. It is even possible to learn from insects that live in highly structured communities that everyone plays a vital role. Animals teach us about life, death, survival, sacrifice, and responsibility. If you find yourself drawn to a particular animal, ask yourself which of its traits you find most intriguing and think about how you might mimic those traits. Think of what you might learn from observing the little bird on your windowsill or the mosquito buzzing around a picnic table. Animals express themselves with abandon, freedom, and integrity. It’s natural to be drawn to the wisdom offered by our animal teachers, and in doing so, discover what is natural and true within you.

Aligning With Your Higher Self Susan
![](http://img.datehookup.com/Thumbnails/2008/07/23/20080723807232879678.jpg)
How to Connect With Your Higher Self through the Wisdom of Your Body Many people in the world today are running blindly, haphazardly seeking their elusive higher Self and purpose with frustration levels that border on insanity. They feel so disconnected from life, people, and their callings that they change directions over and over without thought or without pondering possible repercussions. They are fearful and anxious about life without knowing why, and this disconnection is a root cause of the present rampant pandemic of stress-related disorders. With this in mind, the intent of this article is to provide a method to help you align with your higher Self through the wisdom of your body, and to recognize this connection when you achieve it. Once you align in this way, you are forever empowered. Your purpose becomes clear, you are on track, and your life begins to embrace a flow of grace and ease. It is important to clarify at the onset that very few people know what it feels like to align with their higher Self. The idea of such personal clarity has plagued humankind from its patriarchal beginnings, though some obscured cultures have managed to retain some of their spiritual connectedness. The fact that you are among billions sharing the same spiritual conundrum should become a source of consolation as you bravely pursue that which few have obtained but which is possible. Your higher Self wants you to be happy and to feel connected all the time, though it may not always seem like it. You have been conditioned to believe that suffering and hardship are normal and necessary on the Earth plane, but this is not Truth. You have also been conditioned to turn inconsequential events into fierce dramas to fill your days, weeks, months, and years. Believing that hardship and drama are necessary makes it so, and know that there are good reasons for your conditioning. Your higher Self enjoys every experience that you have, but it also understands your earthly preferences and behavioral patterns that require more attention at the lower-frequency levels. Additionally, it is intimately aware of the lessons you incarnated to learn here and gently pushes you toward those goals. It holds all your secrets and strengths steadfastly, waiting for your claim, but it is in no hurry. It is always aware of your eternal and multidimensional nature, though you may not be aware of it. The key to aligning with your higher Self is very simple but rarely stated, mainly because such awareness is not encouraged widely at present. You align with your higher Self by intimately getting to know how your body feels when you are in alignment. Then, when you know that feeling, you work toward maintaining it by controlling the direction of your thoughts. All positive or negative bodily feelings are rooted in your thoughts, and these are either in alignment with your higher Self or not. When your body feels as good as it can be, your thoughts are in alignment with your higher Self; when your body feels “off” in any way, your thoughts are misaligned. That said, it is time to master the alignment key to move forward in your life. You have felt levels of joy, harmony, happiness, passion, peace, and exuberance in your life—no matter how fleeting—and it is at these times that you have been fully aligned with your higher Self. The difficulty is that people rarely think in terms of alignment when things are going their way. They are too busy enjoying life, which is, after all, the purpose of living. Usually people think in terms of alignment when they need it most, when it is most elusive. Alignment with the higher Self feels different for each individual, but the result is the same. You know you are in alignment when your heart feels open and your body feels as good as it gets. Sometimes you may not feel your body at all, feeling light as air or like a gently floating balloon. There may be a sense of well-being and connectedness in your body plus a spark of creation. Or you may feel sudden passion or happiness with a gentle tingle up your spine. No feeling is wrong. The bottom line is that you are on top of the world when you are in alignment with your higher Self, and your body mirrors this. Everything feels on course and you feel on purpose. Because conditioning along ancestral, cultural, familial, and systemic lines is often difficult to assess and transcend on a strictly mental level, your best, truest gift becomes how your body feels at any given time. Your body is the most sensitive instrument at your disposal for determining whether you are in alignment with your higher Self, and it will serve you in amazing ways to get to know it. To learn to align, you first identify the comfort or discomfort level in the most sensitive part(s) of your body. Many people discern best in the stomach and other parts of the digestive tract; digestive problems are overwhelmingly caused by a mis-alignment with higher Self. Others feel a heaviness, constriction, or pain at their heart when out of alignment. Still others experience tenseness in bodily areas like their shoulders or back. Some get headaches. What it ultimately comes down to is that your greatest bodily challenges are actually your greatest spiritual teachers. Once you sense discomfort in your body, you align with your higher Self through some form of relaxed meditation or time out. You need to take some quiet time to learn what your higher Self is trying to teach you through your body. During times of discomfort, lay back, relax, and surrender deeply so you can learn and grow. Bravely ask your higher Self what your body is trying to teach you and sense the answer. You may see, feel, hear, taste, or smell the answer, depending on your sensing proclivities. Your intuition may come forth boldly and you will suddenly just know. The answer may come right away or it may come later when you least expect it. It is imperative that you know that all questions are answered when you are ready, and no question put forth with honesty and benevolent intent is ignored.
